 A Festival I Celebrate 

 I celebrate with my family Sinhala and Tamil new year every April. It falls on either 13th or 14th. All Sinhala and Tamil people celebrate this festival. Before this festival we clean our house and our gardens.Some people white wash their houses. Parents make many tasty sweet meats for this festival. We buy new clothes for this festival.All the things are done according to auspicious time. All the people who celebrate this festival do these things at the same time. This shows the unity of the people.

On this special day, we share our foods with relatives and neighbours. We visit them with presents. This festival is bound with the people's religion. They either go to temple, church or kovil on this day.
